Virtually Real Research: Driving Simulation
Saturday, 7 May 2011, 2-4pm
In connection with the current exhibition Virtually Real, Hamish Jamson, Principal Research Fellow at the Institute of Transport Studies, will talk about the uses of virtual reality in the dynamic field of driver behaviour research.
Visitors will have the chance to try a portable research driving simulator set up in the gallery, and walk over to UoLDS to have a closer look at the university's spectacular scientific driving simulator built around a Jaguar S-type vehicle cab.
The University of Leeds Driving Simulator (UoLDS) is one of most advanced worldwide research environments and allows research into driver behaviour to be performed in accurately controlled and repeatable laboratory conditions.
