Build your Own Gallery: Free artist workshop with Louise Atkinson this Saturday at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery

What would your ideal Gallery look like? Do you want to hang Leonardo next to Polynesian folk art and Hirst? Do you want a donut shop and a slide in the middle?
Do you have the vision? Do you have a message? Nothing is impossible: art is in your hands!

Saturday 10 September 2011, 1-4pm

Inspired by Sir Michael Sadler’s visionary collection donated to the University in 1923 and currently on display in the ‘Sadler Gift’ exhibition, Louise Atkinson visual artist and curator invites everyone to ponder, create, invent, build and curate their own miniature gallery!

Bring your digital camera and we’ll upload your gallery shots to our blog and Second Life for everyone to see. Art materials will be provided but feel free to bring your artwork or materials.
Louise Atkinson is based in Leeds and has been working as a freelance artist, curator and educator for the past 7 years. She works in sculpture and installation and her multi-faceted, interdisciplinary practice utilises a wide range of media including paper, photography, print, artist books, textiles and found objects.
