miniciné at armley mills is a monthly takeover of the reclaimed Palace Picturehouse which resides inside Armley Mills Leeds Industrial Museum.

next screening Thursday 18 November:

Collapse // Dir Chris Smith / 82 mins / 2010
A former Los Angeles police officer turned independent reporter, Michael Ruppert predicted the economic collapse of the 2000s in his self-published newsletter 'From the Wilderness' at a time when most Wall Street and Washington analysts were still in denial. He also discusses the perils of the global dependence on oil, and delivers a stark warning about the various related crises he sees lying ahead.
Director Chris Smith has shown an affinity for outsiders in films like American Movie and The Yes Men. In Collapse, he departs stylistically from his past documentaries by interviewing Ruppert in a format that recalls the work of Errol Morris and Spalding Gray.

Showing with the short film 'Wee Wise Words: Environment'
Animation in which primary school children's thoughts and opinions are brought to life

Further information and advanced tickets are available from our website minicine.org.uk
