Flourish Award - Yorkshire Printmaker of the Year announced

West Yorkshire Print Workshop is delighted to announce that this years Flourish Award winner is Sara Clark. There are also three commended printmakers Dan Booth, June Russell and Moira McTague. The award was established in 2009 to celebrate and promote excellence in printmaking from its members. This year the scope of the award was enlarged to include non-members’ work from across the Yorkshire region. This exciting development allows WYPW to champion and showcase the best printmaking from practitioners across Yorkshire . It provides Yorkshire artists and printmakers the opportunity to exhibit their work at the WYPW Gallery and go on to plan their own solo print exhibition at Huddersfield Art Gallery in 2013 as part of the prizes awarded to the winning printmaker.

Prizes for the winners include a solo exhibitions at Huddersfield Art Gallery and West Yorkshire Print Workshop in 2013, and discounted usage of the print facilities at West Yorkshire Print Workshop in Mirfield.

The exhibition runs until Saturday 24th November. Visitors can still take part in the People’ Choice Award by voting for your favourite printmaker.
