We will soon be launching an interesting project called 'Pass the Book'in fact there will be two leather bound sketch books to pass around and contribute your doodles, sketches, statements, prints and any other wonderfully creative thing you can think of around the theme of HAND MADE. Your entry can be between one and four pages. The aim is that the book returns to us when it is full and we will turn this into an exhibition at some point in 2013!

The idea behind the book is to celebrate good old fashioned 'analogue' hands on creativity! We live in a digital age where nearly everything is created remotely in a flat digital world whether it be screen or tablet. Here at West Yorkshire Print Workshop we celebrate hands on creativity everyday through our creative screen printing, etching and letterpress courses. For well over 25 years West Yorkshire Print Workshop have been getting down and dirty (literally) with the wonders of good old fashioned messy ink, paper and creativity, and now it's your turn!

The 'Pass the Book' project extends an invitation to artists/printmakers/writers and creative thinkers and doers to contribute to our book. If you have your pen poised and want to take part simply email patrick@wypw.org

We will compile a list of participants and 'launch' our books on their creative voyage of discovery in the next few weeks.

Although this is a celebration of the hand made we will be harnessing the powers of the internet to follow the book on it's travels. We are setting up a Pass the Book Facebook page where you can photograph and share your contributions online, we will also be using #WYPWpassthebook hashtag on Twitter to allow everyone to share and discuss who's doing what, where and when!
