ArtBugs is offering primary schools across West Yorkshire artist led Arts Award Curriculum Activity to children from 7 – 11 years.

Arts Award offers children and young people an inspiring arts journey. It’s mission is to support children and young people to enjoy the arts, develop creative and leadership skills and achieve a national qualification. Arts Award reflects many different interests and ambitions, respects individual development and helps young people develop their creative futures. Arts Award appeals to a wide range of children and young people since it recognises individual development not specific art forms skill levels.

We are offering primary schools two levels of Arts Award;

Arts Award Discover for 7 – 9 year olds (designed for key stage 2)
10 week programme of 1.5/2hr sessions for up to 25 children

This introductory award encourages children to take part in different arts activity, find out about artist and their work and share their discovery with others. Arts Award Discover is run as a 10 week programme for up to 25 children and includes a fun and engaging delivery of the activity, assessment, moderation, log books and certificates for successful completion of the program.

Arts Award Explore 9- 11 year olds (designed for higher key stage 2)
12 week programme of 1.5 /2hour sessions up to 25 children

Arts Award Explore is an entry level 3 QCF qualification. This single unit qualification encourages children and young people to take part in different art activities and record what inspires them to experience the work of artists and art organisations to create work and present their explorations to others. Arts Award Explore is run as a 12 week programme for up to 25 children and includes a fun and engaging delivery of the cirriculum, assessment, moderation, log books and certificates for successful completion of the program.

As well as after school clubs the program can be delivered in the following ways;
