Art Clubs Activity at the ArtBug Studio, Pudsey

Our award winning ArtBug Studio is an artist-led art studio for children and young people based in Pudsey. The studio is Voluntary Ofsted registered and runs an all year round program of art activities for children and young people including Saturday art club, holiday activity and under 5's parent and toddler classes. Overalls are provided for all children but we recommend that children wear old clothes sp they can relax and enjoy the class rather than worry about paint spills.

Toddler Classes
'Stay and Create' parent and child sessions, are designed to enhance the relationship between adult and child allowing you an hour of uninterrupted creative play together away from daily pressures. Aprons are provided for children but don't wear your best as the sessions can get messy! The sessions are run in child friendly venues where you can also bring your younger babies to play in a safe environment for free whilst your toddler gets creative!

Saturday Art Club
Creativity in the visual arts can have a significant impact in achievement in spatial thinking and mathematics. As each child increases in confidence and skill it will be seen in their work! Art Club gives children aged over two years a unique opportunity to express themselves freely through art in a safe & friendly environment. They are encouraged to use their initiative & imagination and are provided with all the materials & resources to experiment & explore as much as they wish!

We explore different materials and new techniques in fine art and craft based activities. Projects include clay hand building and glazing, painting, wire sculptures, junk modelling, sculptures, drawing techniques . Each individual matters and can dictate what they want to do. The child's personal creative journey is key and each child works at their own level. Classes are split 2- 5 yrs & 6yrs - 11 years. Children aged 5 plus will be given the opportunity to participate in Arts Award Discover and Explore from January 2013

SmARTies Creative Morning
Half day of structured creative play for under 5's, sticking, painting, making, messy play, games, stories, singing and fun. These sessions are small in size allowing each child individual attention throughout the morning. Creative activities are child led and the sessions run without parents. Lunch and Snacks included. Childcare vouchers accepted. Thursday morning

Individual Arts Support/Tuition
Whether you would like to learn new skills and techniques with a professional artist, need a bit of help with your art homework or would like to do an arts award; we offer one to one art support/private tuition the studio or at the child's house. Times and Days to be arranged. Please contact us further information.

Creative Development & Arts Award
Discover the artist within, unleash your creative abilities and challenge your thinking with this inspirational course in the visual arts. Explore the rich tradition of artistic conventions, increase your technical skills and immerse yourself in a world of colour, shape and form.

The classes are split into four creative modules and have an emphasis on drawing and painting techniques, both traditional and experimental. The participants will have the opportunity to build a portfolio/ sketch book of their own work produced within the sessions. Students are also encouraged to be imaginative, & be responsible for their choice of themes, activities and materials and will have access to a wide range of materials such as paint, pastels, pencils, charcoal, clay, mod roc, fabrics, coloured paper & card and inks.

Students will gain skills in creative thinking, developing ideas, exploration of various art mediums as well as the ability to construct a portfolio of their work that will contribute to gaining a recognised bronze or silver Arts Award qualification. See 'Arts Award' for further information. The students will also be given an opportunity to exhibit in an art exhibition as part of the Arts Award.

The classes place at the ArtBug Studio in a relaxed and supportive environment. Fees include registration, all art materials, tutoring, official arts award book, badge and folder; registration; moderation costs and certificate/

Information

All classes are payable monthly, newcomers to the classes may pay for the first class on the day to assess if your child likes the class. On the second week the remaining monthly fees are payable.
