CRAFT FAIRS @ WEST YORKSHIRE PRINT WORKSHOP

OVERVIEW

WYPW are inviting submissions from contemporary craft makers to become stall holders at a series of 1 day Contemporary Craft Fairs run in 2012. The first fair will take place on Saturday 28th April 2012 between 10am and 4pm, then Saturday 30th June, 29th September and finally the winter craft fair on the 24th November.
WYPW has built a good reputation for its previous spring and winter craft fairs over the last few years. Acclaimed by exhibitors, local press and the public, all of whom have been impressed by the quality and range of the work on show and by the friendliness of the events and venue.
This year the Craft Fairs at WYPW will run in tandem with the new Mirfield Fayre (www.mirfieldmarket.co.uk) which will be situated next to WYPW outside St Paul’s Church in the centre of Mirfield. This will bring the very best of seasonal farm produce, artisan breads, hand crafted cheeses etc together with the WYPW stalls of beautiful contemporary craft and make for a very rewarding day out for any visitor.
The aim of the WYPW Craft Fair is to promote the best in contemporary craft from makers and designers across the region.

STALL SPEC & PRICES

We only have a small number of stalls available. Each exhibitor will be given a table which measures 180cm x 60cm and seating. Please feel free to bring your own browsers or side tables but please advise in advance of sizes of these before setting up on the day in case they are outside individual stall boundaries within the gallery space. The stalls are located within the WYPW Gallery and therefore have no wall space to mount work since there will be an exhibition already on the gallery walls.

Stall Costs are £30 non-members (£25 WYPW Members)


APPLYING FOR A STALL

Applications are invited from individual makers, groups of makers. Please email your submissions to patrick@wypw.org

Your submission should include:
- An artist’s statement about the proposed work and dimensions of the work
- Up to three images of work to be selected

Selections will be made according to the following selection criteria:
- Innovative use of materials and aesthetic vision
- High standards of technical skill and design
- Unique style/ signature of the individual maker

DEADLINES
Applications are invited anytime before the 20th April for the first Craft Fair on the 28th of April. Selection will be made by the selection committee after the 20th April.
