Voting is now open for this year's Museums at Night event, in which well-known contemporary artists are 'won' by a museum or gallery for a day. There are 4 Yorkshire galleries shortlisted this year, all for different artists (so we're not in competition with each other!). It would be terrific to get these fantastic artists out of London for a change! We need all the votes we can get so it would be great if you could find a couple of minutes to vote for all of these galleries, including our own! Voting closes on Tuesday 28th January at 5pm though so hurry!

Mr Smiths Letterpress at Leeds

The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery in Leeds will present a three-part event including a guest-curated exhibition centred on the Jacobean Travelling Library; a print workshop for all visitors; and a resulting new typographic archive.

Grayson Perry at York

The Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, York will be inviting Alan Measles (and Grayson Perry) to meet the bears in the collection, including toys from the Castle Museum and ceramics from the Art Gallery, for a game of hide-and-seek. There will be an Alan Measles' welcoming speech, storytelling, stargazing and making bears out of old socks.

Janette Parris at Sheffield

Weston Park Museum, in Sheffield will let Janette loose on frustrated collections to reveal their bitter, humorous and occasionally melancholic commentaries on the contemporary urban world. Fake tour guides will be spinning yarns about the objects that will come to life with a family performance and a late night party with bar and music.

Fred Deakin at NCMME, Wakefield

National Coal Mining Museum for England, Wakefield promises cheering and sausages to greet the winners of a Crystal Maze-like challenge including tunnels, massive machinery and subterranean spaces
