Did you know that Aubrey Beardsley, the celebrated book illustrator, was also a published poet?
Join Leeds poets Stephen Emmerson, Gareth Durasow and Chris Stephenson for an hour of innovative poetry reading… and writing! Our poets will be playing with language and words, exploring poetry and art, inspired by Aubrey Beardsley’s artwork exhibited in the current exhibition ‘Fancy and Imagination: Aubrey Beardsley and the Book Illustrators’.

Take home a poem: walking through the pictures of the exhibition, you can take (or become) part of a collaborative poem about the sinister fairy tale world of the distinguished Mr. A. B., the Dandy of the Grotesque.
What does A. B. see? And what does his audience see? Art? Aubrey? One another?
