Alfred Drury: "The Child is father of the Man"
Ben Thomas, curator of our current exhibition Alfred Drury & the New Sculpture will be in the Gallery to talk more about this important Victorian figure and his artistic output during his lifetime.
Ben Thomas is an art historian and Curator of the University of Kent's Studio 3 Gallery. Most recently he has curated exhibitions by John Blackburn and Paul Coldwell, and of contemporary Palestinian art. In 2005 he founded the Kent Print Collection.
He is currently working on a book called 'The Artist and the Print', and is co-editing with Grant Pooke, a book on 'Art History and the Cold War'.
Alfred Drury and the New Sculpture has toured to The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery from the University of Kent.

The talk will begin at 5.30pm. Do join us outside the gallery for tea, coffee and biscuits, before the talk begins, from 5pm.
This is a free event and there is no need to book. Spaces are limited to 30 however so do make sure you arrive in time to avoid disappointment.
