Pyramid of Arts’ Eden Group present ‘Home Space’, an exhibition of paintings and drawings exploring the connection between people and place, at Holy Trinity Church from Monday 15th July until 22nd July.  The exhibition is the first stage of an exciting new project, ‘I Want To Know’ which will see Pyramid of Arts’ members travel across Europe to visit and learn from other similar organisations in Belgium, Germany and the Republic of Ireland – and to spread the word about the fantastic work that they do back here in Leeds!

Pyramid of Arts’ Eden Group began the Home Space project with the aim of creating and presenting a high-quality, themed, painting exhibition to the local public.  Artists Vicki Ferrand-Scott and Brian Marchant-Sidwell have worked alongside the group from the initial stages of producing work through to setting standards, self-reflection and final selection.  This has been a learning process for everyone involved and we are delighted to be presenting the end results to the public at Arts@Trinity, Holy Trinity Church.

Inspired to make observations from their homes and the environment - including visits to current exhibitions in Museums & Galleries around Leeds - the group have taken part in all aspects of staging a traditional exhibition.

We are also delighted to announce that the European Commission’s Grundtvig Programme have recognised Pyramid’s good work and will fund an educational exchange programme between Cooperations in Wiltz, Luxembourg, KCAT in Kilkenny, the Republic of Ireland, and Skid GmbH in Uberlingen, Germany.  The exchange will enable Pyramid members to travel to all three arts organisations to learn about their work. Artists with learning disabilities from the partner organisations will be welcomed to Leeds to enjoy the city’s cultural life and find out about Pyramid of Arts. They will take part in collaborative workshops, and help us to celebrate our fantastic work!

Pyramid of Arts is a Leeds-based charity working to create a community of interest in which people with and without learning disabilities can make a meaningful contribution to the creative life of the city.
