Rise Emerging Curators: Call for Applications

Open Submission from Wednesday 1st March to Saturday 29th April

WYPW is launching a new initiative aimed at supporting and engaging new, emerging curators from across the Yorkshire area. We believe it is vital for emerging curators to have public space where they can try new ideas and establish a dialogue with a broader audience, gaining important critique and feedback.

WYPW is offering a stairway space for emerging curators to gain experience in exhibition curation, planning and delivery. The submission process is open to emerging curators who can clearly communicate their passion about contemporary art, print, design or craft and would benefit from gaining experience in working with an existing gallery and curator. All entries will be assessed and selected by a panel and the project will start in late May and run till December 2012.

We would like to invite proposals from Yorkshire based emerging curators and curatorial groups. The Rise initiative aims to provide up to 5 curators with the opportunity and space to research a project, instigate dialogue and ultimately produce a public facing exhibition.
