A solo photography exhibition by Maria Galvin. 

At Arts, 42 Call Lane, Leeds.

Between 4th November - 14th December 2011
 

'Samsø' is a series of photographs that explore the Danish 'renewable energy island' created by photographer Maria Galvin.
Galvin's work focuses on issues of sustainability and the environment. In Samsø, the landscape of this small island is explored in relation to the community's energy ideals. To some this model island is a utopian paradise, to others it has been transformed into an island of incongruous infrastructure. Whatever your stance, a symbiosis between man and environment is evident in these photographs.
