Postcards from Nowhere: Art Workshop with Hondartza Fraga
Artist Hondartza Fraga will be going places this June and you are welcome to join the tour!
Postcards are like leaving breadcrumbs behind, they record our trails, report our voyages, and fix our memories in single memorable snapshots of the places we visit.
Inspired by Carlos Nadal’s landscapes and cityscapes in the Gallery’s current exhibition, and focusing on the artist as an intrepid traveller, Hondartza’s workshop will create postcards from imaginary lands.
Explore the ways we think about visiting far-away lands and foreign climes and create souvenirs from places you may never see by transforming postcards of familiar sights with paint, pen or collage.
The workshop suits all ages and levels of ability.
Free workshop, but places are limited so please book your place in advance by e-mailing Zsuzsa at libzmp@leeds.ac.uk, phone (0113) 34 32777, or online at http://postcards.eventbrite.com.
