Etching | Kathryn Desforges

This course will cover all the basics of hard and soft ground etching using copper plates and etching with ferric chloride, a less-toxic alternative to traditional nitric acid. This is a great course for beginners and those who need a refresher. You will learn the basics of intaglio printmaking such as how to prepare, etch and print a metal plate, with a hands-on approach, as well as inking and registration techniques.

Kathryn Desforges is a practising artist who specialises in printmaking, and is also technician at WYPW.

5 week course: Thursday evenings, starting 11th November 2010, 6.30 – 9.15pm
Weekend course: Saturday 5th / Sunday 6th March 2011, 11am – 5pm
