This section of the forum is for the sharing of impartial information that will be useful for artists in Leeds. For example, names and contact details for trusted art supplies, printers, framers, van-hire etc. For a directory of art organisations and venues please visit the 'find an arts organisation' section of the LVAF website.

Be warned, this is not a free advertising space; it is for recommendations from and for the artistic community in Leeds. Posts that are suspected to be company advertising or other than the impartial sharing of information may be removed at the moderators discretion. Similarly, although we encourage discussion around any resources posted here, any unnecessarily harmful of un-constructive comments may be removed without prior notice.

Is there any way that this section can be split into groups? i.e. Print, Wood, software, hardware, technical, online. This would make it easier to find what you were looking for with out using the search function, which might show up some unwanted results.

that's a good idea Dave. The easiest way would be to wait until there's some stuff on here to begin to split it into topics. But do you think it the topics/groups are already there then people will be more likely to add something?

I think start off with some basic groups for steerage then see how it goes.

Suggestions from me would be keep it simple to start by defining whether its service like a picture framer or web designer or a place or shop to buy materials. What do people think?

Services - Picture framers/ Printers/ Web Designers/ lumen etc
Suppliers - Paint to peat sellers both online and shop based.
process (im sure there is a better word) - Links to tutorials on various processes, such as film developing, colour correction, blogging, candle making.

Im not sure how software would fit in, there is an ever growing supply of open source programs out there. In Process i guess, although im not sure i'd search the artist resources section of the forum for something that wasn't a service or a supplier. I'd just look on google.

So just the two.
