The FUAM Graduate Art Prize Exhibition 2014
The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery, University of Leeds
August 22 - October 25 2014

Preview Opening: Thursday 21 August 6-8pm. Free Event. All Welcome.

The FUAM Graduate Art Prize, supported by the Friends of University Art & Music (FUAM) rewards the artistic excellence of four top students from the University of Leeds.

Degree shows at the Schools of Fine Art and of Design at the University of Leeds took place around campus in June 2014. After visiting these, a panel of 3 judges from around the Yorkshire region selected 4 graduating students as finalists for The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery's increasingly prestigious FUAM Graduate Art Prize Exhibition 2014.

This year's finalists are:

Ben Eggleton (Design)
Chloe Burdett (Design)
Julia Moscardo i Chafer (Fine Art)
Lily Ackroyd-Willoughby (Fine Art)

In conjunction with the FUAM Graduate Art Prize Exhibition at the Gallery and in the weeks following the prize giving, we will be running a series of professional practice seminars or workshops organised by BA Fine Art students. These sessions will be aimed at students and other early-career artists and will explore areas of concern often faced by newly graduating or emerging artists, issues such as how to apply for funding or residencies or how best to work with Galleries. Look out for further information coming soon.

We will also be running our normal series of Free Burton Saturday Events which will relate to themes of contemporary artistic practice and collecting contemporary art. Full details of these events and the seminars organised by the students themselves can be found on the gallery website and will be updated regularly.
