The Bunker in Hyde Park
I can't remember exactly when it was active - sometime around 2006/7 I think - but for about a year some Vis Com students from LCAD used the cellar of their shared student house as a gallery. It had a couple of really interesting exhibitions and events including one of local fanzines (most of which had come from the archives of Footprint in Chapeltown), a solo show by Luke Drozd and some really great one with Tetris shapes made out of rubbish and earth.
Actually I just found their website; it's here:

Re: The Bunker in Hyde Park
I studied with Jack / Loz / Billy who ran the gallery, we had our first exhibition collectively there, it had a really great ethos, 50p a bottle booze and barbeque's outside were a particular highlight.
The tetrus exhibition you're referring was curated by another group running the space after the bunker chaps moved out. The house has been occupied by art students ever since, the name of the gallery has changed every year as well, it was Hyde Park Gallery for a while, think its Chestnut Ave gallery now??? I think it's being run by Leeds Uni students. Really interesting that it has carried on and is still going, doesn't appear as ambitious or questioning issues as much as The Bunker, although I could just be being characteristically ignorant.
I remember a Poster / Hot sauce show by a poster / screen printing collective called Lonely Punks from the Met when it was Hyde Park Gallery. I enjoyed that. http://www.lonelypunks.co.uk/
Might go for another look at some point, see what's happening. Any info about current happenings there would be appreciated.
